WHAT WE MAKE
You and me make music.
We are a two person Eurovision Snog Contest.
We are the tune everyone turns up the radio
To listen to.
I am your invitation and
You are the party of my life and soul.
You and me make google eyes,
We make foldy noses,
We make twisty lips.
We make one hand from two
(what is the feeling of one hand holding?)
We make beaty hearts calm.
You and me make jam.
We are sweet and fruitful.
We smell great,
And we're fabulous on toast.
You and me make whoopee!
You and me make mischief.
You and me make amends.
Like a lock and key,
We are useless without each other.
Pointless.
We fit.
You and make a couple.
Without you I'd be an unstrung harp,
An undotted i,
An unbowed ribbon.
You'd be the theoretical Higgs Boson,
That has to be there
For this universe to work.
Noone has yet seen it,
But we all have to believe in it.
I, though, have discovered you
And my universe works fine.
You and me make romantic product.
If you could buy shares
In what we share,
The FTSE, the NASDAQ, the CAC40
Would go through the roof.
People would want what we have,
What we are.
You and me make an impact.
Together we have trampled downtown Tokyo.
The Japanese military is no match
For the monstrous size of our love.
You and me make sense.
I asked you once,
"do you want to be someone's
or do you want someone to be yours?"
You said,
"I want to be the person's who's the person
I want to be mine."
Sense, then, if only to ourselves.
You and me make us.
