THE AUTUMN AUBERGINE

23rd November 2003

On Sunday 23rd November 2003, the club held its fourth tournament of the year, the First Annual Autumn Aubergine.

All former players were invited and a number of new players were added to the club's list of invitees. We were looking forward to a fine morning's throwing in the spirit of the England Rugby team's World Cup success in the Sydney rain the previous day. Who would lift the Aubergine?

However, the weather really was dreadful. It had rained all day on the Saturday, all night and all that morning. So when 11 o'clock came around, the course was soggy but unfortunately devoid of players.

Dave G arrived and it was decided at 11.50 to begin the tournament. We stored the fruit and the extra frisbees and began the round.

Liz S also turned up and, after throwing for a couple of holes, she took on the role of score keeper.

After the match, the players headed for Wagamama's in Camden Town where we enjoyed some fine noodles.

Here's hoping the weather won't prevent a better turnout for the Second Winter Pineapple in 2004!

NOTES

Dave took a commanding lead in the first three holes which he never surrendered. His 3 at the fifth and an unbelievable 2 at the eighth were highlights of the round

Ben threw a hole in one at the eleventh and took only six throws on the final three holes to add some respectability to his round.
